GETTING STARTED
Install RFile on Windows.
Status: Production
RFile 0.3.79 is distributed as a Windows desktop application. Local browsing does not require an RFile account; connected web and cloud features have their own sign-in requirements.

Install the current release
- Download
Use the Download for Windows button on rfile.app; it redirects your browser to the exact immutable installer asset in RFile's official GitHub Release.
- Run the installer
Open the downloaded installer and review the Windows prompts before approving installation.
- Open RFile
Launch RFile and begin with This PC, a Home location, or another local folder.
Update settings
The Settings page can check for a newer release when RFile starts. When automatic download is enabled, the installer may download in the background, but installation still waits for your approval.
RFile 0.3.62 and newer stage the exact GitHub Release installer in a private disk-backed file, SHA-256 hash and minisign-verify it incrementally, and reject it above the 512 MiB safety boundary.
Use Check for updates when you want to request a fresh version check. Do not close active transfers just to check for an update.
Installation waits for live Nearby approval, preparation, transfer, or interruption work. Retained Completed, Failed, Cancelled, and Interrupted rows do not represent a running worker and do not keep a later update blocked.
