SIDE BY SIDE

Two folder views in one RFile window.

Status: Production

With at least two tabs open, drag a tab to a left or right docking region in the file area. Each split keeps its own tab, location, history, list, and selection.

Create a split

  1. Open two tabs

Keep the two locations you want to compare or work between available in the same window.

  2. Drag toward an edge

Drag one tab into the left or right docking target inside the file area.

  3. Release on the target

Release when the Split left or Split right indicator appears.

Sidebar navigation, creating and reordering tabs, split view, and returning to a folder selection. Edited app-state walkthrough recorded with sample files in RFile 0.3.67; not continuous real-time footage or a performance measurement.

Leave split view

Drag the split tab back to the main tab strip to rejoin it. Closing the split tab also removes that split when no tab remains there.

The docking target is deliberately near the file-area edge. Dragging over the sidebar does not create a split.
