MULTI-FOLDER WORKFLOW

Move a folder tab where the work needs it.

Status: Production

RFile tabs keep multiple locations available without replacing the current view. A tab can be reordered, detached into another RFile window, or reattached to a different window.

Work with tabs

  1. Open

Use Ctrl+T or the plus button to create another tab.

  2. Reorder

Drag a tab along its current strip; neighboring tabs make room for the new position.

  3. Detach

Drag a tab away from the strip to move it into its own RFile window.

  4. Reattach

Drag the detached tab onto another RFile window's tab strip and release at the intended position.

Sidebar navigation, creating and reordering tabs, split view, and returning to a folder selection. Edited app-state walkthrough recorded with sample files in RFile 0.3.67; not continuous real-time footage or a performance measurement.

Closing and history

Ctrl+W closes the active tab. Back and Forward history belongs to the view, so moving a tab to another window does not turn it into a new folder session.

Complete or cancel any file operation through Transfers; closing a browsing tab is not a substitute for cancelling a job.
